German Bundesliga to Resume on 16th May,2020

On Wednesday May 6th German councilor; Angela Merkel urged  the Bundesliga to resume, she said on a press conference; the play would resume as long as teams adhere strictly to the safety measures. The Bundesliga have being on indefinite postponement since mid February due to Covid-19 crisis.
Bundesliga competition will resume on May 16, the German football association (DFL) has announced, with football returning to the calendar. The testing of players have already began with 10 players testing positive so far.

The restart plan outlined by DFL president Christian Seifert involves six bundesliga games taking place on the opening day being Saturday , with Borussia Dortmund’s derby with Schalke 04 among them, defending champions Bayern Munich will be back on action a day later, as they take in a trip to Union Berlin.

The latest round of matches in the German top-flight will be  completed successfully on Monday May 18, when Werder Bremen play host to Bayer Leverkusen. The final matchday of the 2019-20 campaign is scheduled for the weekend of June 27-28. Bayern Munich is currently on top of the table with Borrusia Dortmond being second. The Bundesliga still have about 9 sets of features still remaining for the 2019/2020 season to come to an end.
